New interface available May 2014.

As described in the Washington and Lee University Web site, "The Calyx has been the University’s undergraduate yearbook for more than 100 years. It is a pictorial summary of student life and events during the year." For this database, printed copies from the University Library collection were scanned in summer 2010.
Digitization was made possible by the Anne and Edgar Basse Jr. Endowment, with additional support from Lyrasis and the Sloan Foundation.

Honors Theses

According to the 2011-2012 Washington and Lee University Catalog (undergraduate), "all honors programs require an honors thesis during the senior year, involving six credits (no more, no less) of independent work, such as a significant report based upon field or laboratory research, a creative accomplishment in the arts, or a comparable scholarly undertaking, demonstrating more than simply a mastery of subject matter."

Here are directions for submission of completed theses.
This page provides access to honors theses the University Library has included in a digitization project beginning in 2010. In many cases, these records include online access to the complete contents of theses, but, at the authors' wishes, some of these records limit online access to current W&L researchers. For similar reasons, some records allow no online access at all.
A much more complete list of our honors theses is available through the library catalog.

Washington And Lee Publications

This database reflects a ongoing project begun in 2010 with the purpose of systematically listing books, articles, and other works created by W&L University faculty and staff. An additional goal is to provide access, whenever possible, to the full content of these materials.
Annie, the W&L library catalog, also lists over 2,000 faculty publications, many of them in Special Collections.
