Producer: NewsBank
Description: A database of articles from 1,700 U.S. and international full-text information sources, mostly newspapers and wire services. Very useful for access to state-by-state coverage.
Chronological coverage varies among sources, but many extend back to the 1990's.
Usage Tips: Important note: The opening search screen is set up to search only U.S. news sources. If you want international coverage, click on the "World" link in the column on the left.
To focus on sources from a particular region or state, click on the desired area on the map or click on the name of the region.

To search for forms of a word, you can use an asterisk (*). Example: riot* finds riot, riots, rioting, rioter, rioters, etc.
To search for articles containing two or more words, connect them with AND. Example: france AND riot*
To search for articles containing a multi-word phrase, enclose the words within quotation marks. Example: "mock convention"

Here is additional assistance on setting up automatic alert searches in this database.
