|Description:||Massive full-text database, containing millions of documents from over 12,000 sources, primarily newspapers, general-interest magazines, and trade publications, along with an extensive collection of legal and business publications.|
|Usage Tips:||The interface opens with a selection of six quick options: "Search the News": "Look Up A Legal Case"; "Get Company Info"; "Research Countries"; "Research People"; and "Combined Search."
These options can be useful for quick research needs; note that you may need to use drop-down menus to specify certain specific publications or publication groups.
More sophisticated search options are available by clicking in the column on the left:
* News -- subdivided into various categories of publications.
* U.S. Legal -- subdivided into Federal & State Cases and Law Reviews, among others.
* International Legal
* Companies -- includes Company Profiles, SEC Filings, and more.
The database automatically searches for both singular and plural forms of words. The trucation symbol ! (exclamation mark) can be used to substitute for several letters to search for forms of a word. Example: child! will find child, children, childhood, etc.
To search for a multi-word term or phrase, enclose the words within quotation marks. Example: "campaign finance"
